2024 Musto Australian Optimist Championship - 9th-15th January Support boat registration
All support vessels are requried to register.
Vessel Berthing
BSYC is an off the beach sailing club.. There is no concrete hardstand launching facility and no permanent wet berthing facilities at the club. It may be possible to anchor vessels overnight in suitable weather conditions. Vessels launched / retrieved at the club via tractor may be stored on the beach. Boats left on the beach and or anchor are done so at the owners responsibility. Owners are advised to check local weather conditions including tide movements.
No washdown facilities are likely to be available for support ribs..
The club has gained access to a berthing area in the outer area of the Holdfast Quays Marina's in Glenelg. This area is available at owners discretion and risk. It is a fixed wharf (ie not floating) and has ladder access. It has lockable access, but is not patrolled or monitored.
West Beach Boat Ramp and O’Sullivan’s Beach Boat Ramp are the nearest launching facilities to BSYC (approx. 5nm north and south of BSYC respectively). Daily parking rates apply.
Please note the West Beach boat ramp and immediate surrounding waters will have access restrictions applied during the month on January and February while accommodating the ILCA National and Worlds Championship events operating out of Adelaide Sailing Club.
Permits to launch and retrieve from the West Beach boat ramp will need to be applied for during the lead up to the Opti Nationals (during ILCA Nationals). https://www.westbeachparks.com.au/news-events/west-beach-boat-ramp-closure
Permits are limited.
